ESTP description:

ESTP is a person who:

E (extraverted) — is energized by new events, actions, and people
S (sensing) — values facts and specifics
T (thinking) – operates with logic in decision-making
P (perceiving) — prefers freedom and unpredictability
ESTPs are thrill-seekers and are able to act effectively in extreme situations. They are dynamic, energetic, active, and enterprising, and like to solve problems. ESTPs are often called Entrepreneurs for their ability to find a way out of different circumstances and quickly make smart decisions. Entrepreneurs are constantly looking for adventures in which they can prove themselves.

ESTPs are great in emergency situations where they act as firefighters who put out fires, both real and metaphorical. They are focused on the result and on getting it immediately. They put all their efforts to enjoy the present moment, and do not think about what could have been. They do not like to talk about what will happen in the future, and they do not tolerate theoretical reflections and abstract concepts. Solving practical problems is the greatest strength of Entrepreneurs.

ESTPs interact well with others, as they are very sociable. The unstoppable energy and ingenuity of Entrepreneurs attract other people. They make jokes, talk to friends, get along with strangers, and maintain a large network of contacts. ESTPs have a great sense of humor and are often the center of attention. For all their ability to easily find a common language with anyone, ESTPs are not held in long-term relationships. They prefer to have a wide range of contacts but are less interested in building a close relationship with one person.

Entrepreneurs have an innate ability to capture other people's thoughts and motives. They are extremely sensitive and can easily detect the slightest changes in someone's facial expression, clothing, or behavior. They are usually a couple of steps ahead of the person they are communicating with, and use this ability to take everything they need from the situation.
ESTP statistics in the world:
  • 4% of the total population
  • 6% of men
  • 3% of women
ESTPs know how to enjoy the moment and strive to take the maximum. Drama, passion, and physical pleasure are their constant companions in life. Some ESTP personality traits can cause unintentional pain to others. As they are very direct and make decisions based on facts and logic, rather than emotions, their words can easily hurt sensitive people. At the same time, Entrepreneurs are very caring parents and family members.

Entrepreneurs have the ability to observe and clearly assess the situation, which allows them to easily adapt and control events to benefit themselves. They not only work well but also lead an interesting, active life. Usually, ESTPs have excellent physical shape, as they are fond of sports. They get pleasure when they hear compliments in their address.

Inspiring, persuasive, and bright Entrepreneurs are natural leaders, drawing others along with them and bringing rich colors and intrigue to life. For the fullness of life, they need a constant energy boost in the form of new challenges filled with drive and adrenaline. They find such situations in business or in extreme sports.

ESTP strengths:

Practicality. ESTPs are pragmatic people who benefit from everything and can put their skills into practice and monetize them. They are not interested in abstract ideas and concepts, but in practical results here and now.

Energy. Entrepreneurs are full of life and energy and are always ready to jump into things. They interact openly with other people. They enjoy taking on challenges, trying new things, and putting their ideas into practice.

Openness and straightforwardness. ESTPs are open to communication and straightforward in their thoughts and views. They always say what they think without hiding their emotions and thoughts.

Flexibility. Entrepreneurs easily adapt to changes, find a way out of any situation, make quick decisions, and demonstrate enterprise and composure in a stressful environment.

Friendliness. As pleasure lovers, ESTPs strive to maintain an enjoyable atmosphere in the team and bring the brightness of life into everyday activities. They prefer to work in a team with responsible people.

Sociability. Entrepreneurs easily build a chain of acquaintances, establish contacts, and maintain them.

What will be useful for ESTP to learn:

Self-organization. ESTPs experience boredom from routine and monotony. When living by the rules, the lack of drive and change bores them. It is also difficult for them to act according to the plan, to fit into the deadlines, and to maintain the agreements.

Discipline. The lifestyle of Entrepreneurs can be perceived by others as chaotic and inconsistent. They easily switch from one direction to another when they lose interest in the first one.

Patience. Being focused on immediate effect and results, ESTPs experience a sense of resentment when someone thinks or works, by their standards, for a very long time. If the process in which they are involved turns out to be more complex and time-consuming, they also experience irritation.

Understanding emotions and feelings. Guided by logic and facts, ESTPs are unable to understand the feelings and needs of others. The emotional world of other people is a mystery for them.

Strategic thinking. The focus on staying in the here and now leads to ESTPs losing sight of the long-term prospects.

The ability to calculate the situation in advance. Entrepreneurs are willing to take on any risky business without fear of getting their hands dirty. They enjoy the rush of adrenaline and can even make it a goal if they are bored.

Stick to the plan. ESTPs are prone to improvisation. They can suddenly change the direction of their action if they think it would be better. However, when working in a team, it is important to stick to one direction or change it in a coordinated and smooth manner.
