 INTP Innovator

INTP description:

INTP is a person who:

I (introverted) – focused on the inner world
N (intuitive) – likes to work with ideas and abstractions
T (thinking) – operates with logic in decision-making
P (perceiving) – prefers freedom and unpredictability
INTPs are often called Innovators because of their well-developed imagination and associative thinking. Most of the time they are immersed in their inner world, where their mind is constantly analyzing complex problems, identifying patterns, and coming up with a logical explanation for everything that happens in the outside world. They believe that everything they see can be analyzed and improved by combining it into patterns and creating complex systems. For INTPs, the world exists only to be analyzed.

The surrounding reality for the Innovators is the scope of their brilliant ideas and solutions. Interested in the problem, they will not stop until they study it from all sides and find a brilliant way to solve it.
INTPs generally do not recognize authorities based on tradition or public opinion. They have their own judgment about all aspects of life. INTPs do not take into account assumptions and conventions. Only facts based on logic and evidence have weight for them. They are logical, and all important decisions are made on the basis of objective information, not subjective feelings.

Any existing theory is considered by the INTPs in terms of the possibility of proof or refutation. They sincerely do not understand people who are committed to ideas that have no logical justification.
INTP statistics in the world:
  • 4% of the total population
  • 5% women
  • 4% men
Because INTPs spend most of their time talking and debating in their own heads, they may seem somewhat pensive and detached. Absorbed in their inner world, they often neglect external details. In small talk, Innovators are reserved and clumsy. But when it comes to the exact sciences or solving problems of the scale of the universe, their eloquence is inexhaustible.

What will be useful for INTP to learn:

Tolerance. INTPs are self-sufficient. Most of the time they spend with themselves, in their heads, inventing and constructing a new reality. If another person does not have the same intellectual level, the Innovators ignore such an acquaintance, as such people often annoy them.

The ability to express feelings. INTPs are often accused of not sharing other people's feelings. Indeed, for INTPs, their emotional sphere is a mystery; they have difficulty saying what they feel and expressing their emotional attitude.

The desire to be understandable to others. INTPs often don't feel the need to explain to other people in detail what they mean. They expect people to be fast learners and analyze ideas immediately. But this is not always true. If the Innovators cannot explain their ideas through examples and concrete steps, they will not be understood by others.

The ability to work out the details. INTPs like to work with large-scale tasks. Their specialty is strategy, so when it comes to putting their ideas into practice, their interest fades. Without careful elaboration of details and implementation, many brilliant ideas of Innovators remain a fantasy.

Self-organization. It is difficult for INTPs to fit into the set deadlines and stick to the plan. They often get carried away with new ideas, switch their attention to them, and as a result, planned tasks are postponed.

Connection with reality and immediate needs. Innovators often live in their own world, not paying much attention to what is happening around them, whether it is everyday trifles or the feelings of other people. As a result, they lose touch with important people and miss out on certain areas of life.

Leadership qualities. INTPs do not like to be responsible for other people's actions or interact with large numbers of people. However, it is important for a successful leader to be able to do this.
